Beth's Special Brisket

  • Brisket of Beef (any size, and a pot that it will fit in)
  • Ketchup
  • Brewed Coffee
  • 1 Clove Fresh garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Pepper
  • Carrots, Celery, Potatoes (optional)
Please note: all measuremants will vary according to the size of the brisket you are using)

Directions:
Cut off fat from meat, leave a little on the bottom (after all, the fat does hold the flavor). Lighlty brown garlic in vegetable oil on bottom of pot. Sprinkle salt and pepper all over meat to taste. Braise meat on all sides to lightly brown. Cover meat with equal parts coffee and ketchup (e.g. 1 cup to 1 cup). Cover loosely and simmer on medium heat until meat is tender. (In the last hour of cooking, you may add carrots, potatoes, celery, etc.; if so desired).

Please note: If needed, you can make extra sauce by heating equal parts of coffee and ketchup in a pot.
